Baby shower

Our church had a baby shower honoring our new daughter.  It was so much fun and we got so many VERY CUTE things.  The food was excellent.  I love cake balls!

Here's all my hostesses.  Each one of these women is so dear to me for many reasons.  We all have different stories, at different stages of life, but we are tied together by the sisterhood of Christ.  What a joy to come together to celebrate life given by God.  The lady to the left of me is also pregnant and due a few weeks after me.  There will be a total of SIX babies born at our church this year.  That's a lot for us!

My mom and sister were able to be there for the shower.  That was very special to share that with them.  Notice our color coordination!

There were so many precious women there.  There was a beautiful devotional and they prayed over me and the baby.  Very touching!

Did I mention that we got a lot of cute things?  She will be a well dressed little girl.  She already has 4 pairs of shoe,s so she is on the right track.  We were blessed with so many other gifts like a car seat, blankets, etc.  We are so thankful for our church family!

Baby girl

I had a 3-D ultrasound the other and got the "first" picture of our baby girl.

It's a little creepy looking, but still fun to see.  I think she kind of looks like Baby Wingman a little.  We will have to wait and see.  Only 7 more weeks...

Pregnancy update

I am now 31 weeks pregnant and feeling it.  Everyone says I look small or have a small baby bump.  I appreciate the comments, but I sure don't feel that way.  I feel like my feet and the ground are 2 miles away and try to avoid reaching them at all cost.  I get out of breath at the simplest things.  Grocery shopping makes me feel like I have run a marathon.  Daily naps are back on the schedule.

I really can't complain.  I have had a very healthy pregnancy and the baby is doing great.  She is measuring right on target for her age and there have been no complications.  My back is feeling back to "pregnant normal."  I have been able to continue working at the hospital 1 weekend a month.

Right now, we are working on getting her room together.  We are busy making it looking like a girl's room.
Here's a before shot with all the denim and red and airplanes.

We are not quite done so I will wait on the "after" shot.  We painted the walls lavender and changed out the guest bedding.  I am still staring at the fabric to make curtains, but it should happen soon.  We brought the crib down from the attic and assembled it.

I found these cute fairy prints that I am having matted and framed to put on the wall.  They were the perfect shade of purple.

I love my boys dearly, but it sure is a lot of fun decorating a girl's room.

Superheroes

Superheroes are a daily part of our lives right now.

Crash loves to be Batman.  That's his new favorite character.  However, he insists to wear a red cape with his mask.  (I just realized this picture looks like he is picking his nose.  He wasn't, but I just caught a random moment.)

Wingman calls himself "Super Ranger".  He's a cross between the Lone Ranger and a super hero.  He gallops faster than a speeding bullet.

Watch out bad guys!

Gran Prix 2012

This year we had an original entry in the car race.  Wingman decided he wanted a "fork" car.  It turned out pretty good.  He helped sand and paint.

He really liked the back part.  It doesn't show up well, but it says, "Ketchup if you can."  Wingman thought that was hilarious.  He is our resident ketchup lover and loves to race and loves a good joke.

Both older boys decided on Batmobiles.  There were slight technical variations that each one built into his car.  The Test Pilot practically built his car by himself this year, with instruction from dad.  He did a great job!

Crash LOVES Batman so he was excited for his "Batmovile" as he calls it.  He is quite the sander and wheel polisher.

And the results are...Wingman got 1st in his preschool division.  He was so excited for his first official race!

Crash got 1st in the Sparks division.

And (do you see a trend?), the Test Pilot got 1st in T'n'T division.

Here's the Captain doing his race day job.

Now they are excited just to play with their cars.  Way to go Team Apple!

Them bones

Test Pilot was part of a singing group at church.  (I am not a professional photographer and don't want to be, but I really need a better zoom.)

They sang a version of "the hip bone connected to the back bone" with a medley of a song about Ezekiel.

They sang, they beat their instruments, or in his case "strummed" his instrument.  He did great!

Baking day

Crash had Baking Day at his school.  He was looking forward to that all week.  They wore aprons and brought all their own baking supplies.

They made breadsticks, sugar cookies, and pizza all from scratch.  The mom in charge was amazing.  She even made homemade pizza sauce.  All the kids had a blast.

Here's Crash with a friend. He has proclaimed himself a chef now.

They should pay the church janitor extra after baking day.  There were little flour footprints all over that building.
