Glade plug ins

This is just a random post so I will just say that I love Glade plug ins.  I purchased one about a month ago for the playroom area, because it smelled like "dog" all the time.  Fresh linen scent is my favorite.  It did the job nicely.

I decided to try one in the boys' bathroom and since they have a Jack and Jill bathroom the scent would flow into their rooms.  I walked in to their room this morning to the lovely "fresh linen" smell and not musty, stinky little boy smell.

This "odor" really has me baffled.  I am kind of a neat freak.  I make them bathe daily.  I regularly clean and disinfect their rooms.  (Microbiology lab in college forever changed my life.)  Where is this odor coming from? My husband just looks at me and states, "We have 3 boys."

I am doomed to this smell being in our home.  I see lots of Glade plug-ins in my future.

Crazy day

This day has just been weird.  We started out with a call from the vet.  CJ, our very old dog, has not been acting well for 2 days.  The vet said it was arthritis.  The Captain and I beg to differ.  This dog has had arthritis for years and never acts like this.  He is now home and still not acting well.  At least we have doggie drugs to help.

Then we went to the zoo.  Met some friends, enjoyed great weather, and then Crash proceeded to puncture his head with a rock overhang.  I got to meet 3 nice EMT's at the zoo who took care of this profusely bleeding head wound.  He had blood all over his face.  He did not need stitches.  Thankfully he seems to be fine now.  It just looks icky.

Wingman told me he loved me about eleven times at the zoo.  That's his way of saying "I love going to the zoo and thank you for taking me here!"

I know this probably sounds like de ja vu, but we it looks like we really are moving this time.  The Captain received a job offer this week and we will be moving to Kansas.  They are few things to be done (a physical, background check) and then they will set a start date probably around the first of March.  He will go first and the kids and I will be here and there until the house sells or until something else changes.

Keep you updated...

Toy mix up

We have had a few toy mix ups around here lately.  For instance, Crash likes to take cars from one set and play with them on a different track.  (This drives the Test Pilot nuts!)  Crash also thinks you need to wear a cowboy hat while playing with the light sabers.  It's a must have.

I noticed this one today.  Here's Wingman's new little farm set up he got for his birthday.  It's so peaceful with all the animals playing and eating.

Wait a minute!  Then I notice that this dinosaur is eating one of the goats.  Things are never dull around here.

Diego Birthday

Wingman had his anticipated Go Diego Go birthday party.  He's wearing his Diego shirt here.

He had been eyeing these cupcakes all day.  He refused to eat lunch stating that he wanted cupcakes instead. That did not fly with his mother.  "But I like those," he says.

Don't worry he had his fill of chocolate that day.  He got to pick breakfast for the day: chocolate doughnuts.  Only to finish the day off with chocolate cupcakes.

Happy 3rd Birthday Wingman!

I can't believe my baby is 3 years old today!  Here he is when he was a few days old.

I don't have height/weight stats yet so I will post that later.  He is very precocious with an amazing vocabulary.  That vocabulary gets him into trouble sometimes, but most of the time it's funny.

Here' s good shot of Wingman.  He loves to imaginative play and there is always a mommy, daddy, and a baby and sometimes other family members.  Most mornings he hangs out with me in the bathroom while I get ready and plays "family" with the toothpaste.  The biggest one is daddy and the travel size tubes are the babies.

The baby toothpaste gets into trouble a lot and daddy toothpaste has to say, "No, No!"  Wonder where he learned that.

He is my sidekick.  He has always been a mama's boy and continues to be.  His dad is great but he just prefers mommy.  If I try to leave him or have daddy put him to bed Wingman says with an angelic voice and  those baby blues batting at me, "But I just neeeed you!"  Just makes your heart melt.

I figure if he is going to be with me, might as well put him to work.  He loves to "help."

He seems to have forgiven me for that unfortunate time when I had to leave him everyday to go to work.

He likes Go, Diego, Go and playing with animals.

He calls his brothers, "My brothers" or "my boys".

He thinks he is 7.

As of this moment, is almost potty trained.

He enjoys coloring and uses his left and right hands equally.

He loves dessert just like his mama.  Chocolate is our favorite.

Happy Birthday!

Creative handwriting

Homeschooling is going pretty well.  There are certain subjects the Test pilot likes better than others.  Handwriting would be one that he is not thrilled about.  I think it's the monotony of repetitive writing of  the letters.

I do handwriting practice with Crash usually at the same time.  He does print and the Test Pilot cursive.

I tried to mix things up one day.  We used shaving creme on baking sheets as our medium and they had to "write" in the creme.

I got mixed results.  The Test pilot thought it was pretty cool.  Crash would not put his hands in there to save his life.  (I should have known better.)  Wingman liked to look at it but not touch.

Crash and Wingman did participate a little when I let them use a q-tip instead of their finger to write.

It did give us a good laugh and a break from the monotony.

Nails

I was reviewing Crash's AWANA Bible verse for the week with him.

"...Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us...Ephesians 5:2"

We recited it together a few times.

I then explained that Jesus loved Crash so much that he died on the cross as the punishment for his sins.

Crash's responds, "Mama, I don't want nails in my hands."
