Fun with a girl

It is lots of fun having a baby girl.  She just has the cutest outfits.

I love all the bows.  So far she doesn't mind having the bows on her head.  Baby acne has set up in full force on her poor head.  That's why she looks so red.  It's actually getting better.  It just looks so awful.

She is getting in a better sleep pattern.  I usually feed her around 10pm and then she will sleep 5 hours or so.  It's been nice for me.  I say usually because every so often there's a day that just doesn't go according to plan.  Thankfully, I have been able to take a nap everyday.

She had a check up this week.  She is 6 weeks old weighing 12 lbs and 22 inches long.  Baby K is growing quite nicely.  She started to smile.  That's fun to see.  Haven't been able to catch a picture of that yet.

A week of nothing

Last week was our first week of no school.  It was nice to sleep in or at least not using an alarm.  We did a whole lot of nothing.  We did not go any where.  It was great.

The boys spent time holding baby K.

They watched her take a bath and play on the floor.

K and I spent many hours sitting on the porch watching the boys ride bikes, wrestle, and have light saber battles.

The boys got very crafty too.  One morning, I left them to their own devices while I took a shower.  I came back to find construction paper, tape, scissors, etc all over the dining room.  They decided to make paper houses for EACH of their stuffed animals.

S alone has 20+ stuffed animals so you can imagine the village that materialized.  They were quite creative in their construction.  Now I just have to find a place to store them so we can eat on the dining room table again.  And buy more tape.

Daddy/daughter time

Daddy is enjoying having a little girl in the house.

Their outfits blended well that day.  It was not planned at all.

She gets a little fussy in the evenings some times.  Daddy likes to take her on the porch for a little "chill out" time.

It works for her.  Look at that little grin.  I think she likes daddy too.

Going bike riding

J was in desperate need of a new bike.  His long legs were about hitting his chest when he would pedal.  He got a new bike and then we handed down his bike to W and W's bike to S.  They were all thrilled with their "new" wheels.

They have been taking many bike rides with Dad since then.  We don't have sidewalks in our neighborhood which makes me a little nervous.  This is one of those things I will just have to pray and trust God.

W practiced a little without his training wheels but he said he wanted them back on.  He has made good progress.  It won't be too long.  S can ride his bike with training wheels if there is no incline.  He just doesn't quite have the strength yet.

For now, mom and K watch from the front porch.

School is out

We are done with school!

J finished the bulk of school before K arrived.  We had been doubling up since January to be done with school by the time the baby was born and we finished just in time.  Thank goodness!

He had a few items to work on but those were done independently.

W finished school last week.  I am glad but sad.  It was a great school with great teachers.  He learned so much.  We are sad to leave good friends.  I won't miss the daily driving and all the extra stuff I had to do which is a bit challenging right now.  No more uniforms.  No more packing lunches.  No more added stuff to our day.

We officially have nothing on our schedule for a few weeks.  Yeah!  We can sleep in and do whatever we want for a while.

Then we start our summer routine of swim lessons, pool days, and other outings with friends.

Looking forward to the summer!

Bunny

All the boys love watching and interacting with Baby K when she plays on the floor.  J shared his prized bunny with her.  He thought it was great that she grabbed on to it and was hugging Bunny.

They have lots of questions during this time.  "Why does mommy roll her over?"  "When will she sit up?"  "When will she walk?"

This picture was also taken to show off an outfit that Grammie bought for her.  She wore it for all of 2 hours, before she promptly blew out her diaper all over her outfit.  It was a 4 outfit kind of day.  She takes right after her brothers.

She had a blow out at 3am the other morning.  That was not so fun for either of us to clean up at that hour.  You definitely need to be fully awake for that.

Books

Our local library finally re-opened after a year's worth of renovations.  The boys have been dying to go.  We went the other day after school and this is what I found in their room a little while later.

This makes me proud.  They love to read.  W tried to read a book and ride a bike at the same time the other day.  That maybe taking it a little far, but I am so glad they share in my love for books.

We watched the "Swiss Family Robinson" Disney movie the other night.  The boys loved it!  J exclaims, "We have that book!"  All 3 boys spent a good while looking over the book.

They look forward to book time with Dad every night!  Here they are reading their new favorite library book called The Buccaneer Bunnies.  They find it hilarious. Yeah for books!
